We are a small, family-run business! We started our business journey while still working in our respective former careers. As we transitioned to real estate full time, we found that working together is fantastic. Each of us brings strengths and skill sets that combine in a way that benefits not only ourselves and our business, but the clients who we work with. Though we are very different in our personalities – Tara is more of the extrovert, while Dave is the quiet one – we complement each other well. Over the years, we have become extremely knowledgeable about all things related real estate and houses. We have rehabbed many homes – from those needing light cosmetic work, to run-down and hoarded homes, to severely damaged homes. We’ve found that we are able to help people with the sale of their property, especially when they find themselves in a situation where they need a quick and easy sale, or they have a home that will be difficult or impossible to sell the traditional way. We pride ourselves in being honest and transparent. We will look at each seller’s specific situation and tell you what your options are. If your best option is to list a home for sale in the traditional way, we can help you with that as well! Downriver is our home, so it is important to us to run our business with integrity and maintain a stellar reputation within our community.
On the personal side of life, we have a son, Alex, who is currently living in El Paso Texas with his fiancé Maryn and our awesome grand-dog, Kaya. We love to visit them whenever we can, which is never often enough! When we do manage to find some free time, we love eating at the fantastic restaurants all over SE Michigan, and going on adventures with our two crazy dogs. Dave enjoys fishing, playing pool, and listening to podcasts, while Tara loves to read and browse for deals on Amazon. Luckily, working together as a husband-and-wife team allows us to spend most of our time together, which we truly enjoy. (Most days, at least! HAHA!) Over the years, we have personally experienced some different housing situations ourselves; Tara had to sell a house after a divorce, and Dave had to figure out what to do with a house he owned that he couldn’t sell for what he owed at the time (which ultimately turned into our first rental). More recently, Dave’s grandfather passed away, and when we were in the process of listing his home for sale, Dave realized that he had quite an attachment to the home, so we ended up purchasing the house from grandpa’s trust, rehabbed it, and it is now a rental home. These experiences have granted us a personal perspective when it comes to working with others.
We love the opportunities that our business brings us to get to know so many wonderful people. We guarantee you that we will never be the “salesy” type. That just isn’t who we are! We genuinely want to work with you to determine how we can best help you reach your goals when it comes to selling your property. When you call us, there are no obligations, and no pressure. We’ll give you our best cash offer, and then it is up to you to determine if you’d like to work with us. Furthermore, we are always here to answer any questions you may have, even if you aren’t quite ready to sell. It’s always important to have as much information as you can gather, so that you can make informed decisions. Please feel free to reach out to us – we promise it won’t be uncomfortable or awkward! We try to make every situation a win-win for all parties involved, whether it be a quick closing, buying the house in as-is condition, helping you find another place to live first, etc. Whatever the situation may be, we strive to help.
Raised by a hard-working mom, I grew up in Wyandotte and then Woodhaven, and still live Downriver. After attending Lawrence Technological University, I worked for 19 years as an electrical engineer in the auto industry. I was good at my job, but it wasn’t fulfilling on a personal level. I started exploring other career options and chose to go into nursing. As I was beginning that transition, a real estate opportunity popped up, and I realized that it was something I had an interest in. So, I decided to put my focus there. I obtained a Michigan realtor’s license, and began investing, eventually leaving my engineering position. Tara and I purchased our first few properties, and “flipped” them. We then started purchasing homes to turn into rentals. I take a great deal of pride in working with sellers and tenants in a respectful manner. When I am not working on house projects, or listening to Tara talk (HAHA!), I enjoy hanging out with our two dogs, working out, playing pool and pinball, and listening to podcasts. I love fishing, and any chance I get to spend time at a lake or ocean.
Born and raised in Dearborn, I always wanted to follow my parents’ footsteps and become a teacher. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, I earned a master’s degree in special education with a special certification in Autism from Oakland University. I spent 15 years as a special education teacher in the public school system, with most of that time spent at a center-based school for children with autism. Though I left my career as a teacher, I still support public schools and educators. Currently, I hold a Michigan real estate broker’s license, and own my own realty company. This allows me to practice real estate, and work as an investor, with integrity and in an ethical manner. I am always trying to learn new things that help our business improve and grow. I love to read, mostly fiction, as well as anything related to investing. My biggest addiction in life is watching all of the Law and Order series. I have seen every episode of every series! An avid animal lover, I love spending time hanging out with and enjoying adventures with our two dogs. My immediate family lives close by, so I love visiting with them whenever possible.
